If you have registered an over-the-counter or Rx medication for your child, please make plans to pick up the medication personally from Mrs. Glorioso, R.N., by the end of the day on Tuesday, May 21. No medications of any type will be released to children or sent home in backpacks. If you choose, you may leave non-prescription medicine in our locked cabinet over the summer; if not expired, it may be used for the student again upon receiving a new 2013-2014 Medication Authorization form in the fall.
WOW! The year will be coming to an end on Thursday, May 23! On this day, we will transport all of the children to St. Francis of Assisi for our final Mass honoring our departing 6th grade students. Please make plans to attend the Mass with your child as dismissal will be directly from St. Francis following the Mass. Remember there is no ACE on this day, so you must come to St. Francis to pick up your child who will be dismissed directly from Mass. Please refer to Edline for the carpool procedure for dismissal following the Mass at St. Francis.
As spectators watched, Franklin drifted off to sleep and awoke in the rainforest! With the assitance of his class’ pet iguana, Rex, Franklin finally found a home in the rainforest. Following their production, the characters found their habitats within the St. Anthony rainforest in order for all rainforest visitors to get a first-hand understanding of each creature. Congratulations to all of our rainforest friends!

Campbell Miller, Mary Kathryn Sheehan, Riley Miranda, Lyrik Lockhart, and Frances Richards join hands as they portray animals from different levels of the rainforest.
Each day students at St. Anthony Catholic School grow and express their knowledge in unique ways, allowing each child to grow in confidence and understanding of the world in which they are a part.
Third grade student, Caroline Bounds, helps to create a board game which will reflect on a particular topic the students have learned about during the school year. Students must come up with their own questions and answers, design, make the board, write directions, and teach another group how to play the game.
While learning about units of measurement, 1st grade students made their own rice babies to reflect their own weight at birth. Pictured is Jackson Cook holding his rice baby.
Sixth grade students enjoyed thier class trip to New Orleans. While there they visited the zoo, aquarium, and the Imax theater.
St. Anthony Catholic School students learned how to push themselves physically by participating in the Eagle Running Club which trained participants for their first 5K race.
Each day parents and community supporters partner with St. Anthony Catholic School to create a warm, nurturing environment for our students to learn and play. Caught in the act of service this week included the many volunteers assisting with the rainforest transformation, grant assistance, library assistance and more! Thank you for your gift of time and talent!

Volunteer parent, Jennifer Warriner, spends her morning teaching Artsense with her son Bryce’s Kindergarten class. She assisted the students in making faces out of model clay.

Good times were had by all in the 4th Annual Decathlon Day event at St. Anthony Catholic School. Houses enjoyed spirited competition and more as they displayed their team’s athleticism in twelve different events. With each victory, Houses earned points, propelling them toward a possible win of the coveted House Cup! Who will win the House Cup this year? We will find out on Awards Day!

All rising 4th, 5th, and 6th grade Eagles interested in playing football or cheering during the 2013-2014 seasons should make plans to attend the sign-up and informational meeting on Monday, May 13, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria at St. Anthony Catholic School. For more information on this meeting, please read the Eagle Athletics Registration Letter from the Athletic Director, Mr. Kris Cole. Please note – due to individualized uniforms which must be ordered, it is necessary to register for cheerleading this upcoming week! GO EAGLES!!!
