Cajun Fest

Don’t foget to bring your donations of good conditioned, clean household items, DVDs, books, etc. to the office in support of the upcoming Cajun Fest at St. Francis on Sunday, May 19.  As upperclassmen of the school, 5th and 6th graders should sign up for at least one service hour at the event in order to help mentor participants of the kids’ games.  In addition, adult volunteers are needed to assist with game supervision.  Students can earn service hours for NEXT or THIS year for volunteering at Cajun Fest.  For best selection of volunteer times, please contact at Michele Warnock (mhwarnock@bellsouth.net | 601.613.4653).  Laissez les bons temps rouler!

Crawfish Boil – Friday, May 3

Don’t forget to bring your lawn chairs, tents, and coolers packed with your favorite beverage of choice this Friday for the annual Crawfish Boil!  We look forward to seeing all who have fulfilled your family’s volunteer obligations and have sent in the RSVP for the Crawfish Boil.  As a reminder, the crawfish boil is for ADULTS ONLY and no children under the age of 21 will be admitted to the area.  For your convenience, supervised childcare has been organized for all who have returned their RSVP, and children will be treated to hot dogs, drinks, and lots of fun!  Thank you for working together to create an exceptional community for our Eagles!

Countdown to Crawfish Boil!

Planning is underway to celebrate volunteerism together at our annual Crawfish Boil on Friday, May 3, from 4:00-8:00 p.m.  Your volunteer hours are valued by the Parent Association and the community of St. Anthony!  If you have fulfilled your family’s volunteer obligations, please be sure to RSVP for the Crawfish Boil by Monday, April 29.  Beginning this year, the crawfish boil is for ADULTS ONLY.  Supervised childcare will be provided in the gym and on the lower playground.  The gym will feature a kid-friendly movie while the lower playground will give children an option of playing outside as well! 

Of course there is always a need for volunteers, even at the Crawfish Boil.  The Parent Association needs volunteers to cook and a seperate crew to clean up at the end of the evening.   Please contact Josie Roach to volunteer your time (601.506.9066 | jcndbon@aol.com).  We are also seeking additional crawfish tables to allow more people to eat at the same time – so please let us know if you have one! Parent Association Social & Meeting – April 10!

On Wednesday, April 10, beginning at 6:00 p.m. the Parent Association of St. Anthony will have its Spring Social and Meeting.  The evening is sure to be a treat as we will have the opportunity to dine as one big family. During the meeting, the slate of officers for the 2013-2014 P.A. Board will be presented.  We look forward to seeing everyone on this evening!

“We The People”

Congratulations to all of the 1st Grade students and teachers for an outstanding production of “We The People”!  Thank you also to the many volunteers who assisted in making this day special for our students.  Honored guests and parents could not have been more proud of the students as they proclaimed their knowledge of America and patriotism throughout the performance.  Congratulations!

Barnes & Noble Bookfair

The Barnes & Noble Bookfair kicks off on Thursday, February 28, and concludes on Saturday, March 1.  Many exciting events are planned for the bookfair including Eagle spirit night, pajama-rama, scavenger hunts, and more!  Summer reading lists will also be revealed at the bookfair to allow families to make their purchases now in support of our school.  Relatives and friends living outside of our area may also support St. Anthony Catholic School by making online purchases at BN.COM/bookfairs utilizing our bookfair ID 110044955.  For specific information about the bookfair events please click 2013 Barnes & Noble Bookfair Information.

Eagle Athletics All-Sports Banquet

Students who participated in either Eagle football, basketball, or cheerleading are invited to attend the Eagle Athletics All-Sports Banquet on Wednesday, February 20th, beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the gym of St. Anthony.  Sponsored by the Eagle Club, the evening will include fellowship, food, a guest speaker, and team presentations.    By this time, each family with students who participated in Eagle Athletics should have completed their RSVP form.  Thank you for your participation this year and we look forward to seeing our Eagle athletes at the banquet! GO EAGLES!!!!

National Catholic Schools Week

Mark your calendars! We will be celebrating National Catholic Schools Week beginning Sunday, January 27, through Saturday, February 2.  In addition, the Parent Association is collecting used uniforms this week to enhance the uniform sale on Parent Appreciation Night.  There will be a collection box in the front office in which you may place your donations.  Please check Edline or click Catholic Schools Week Calendar 2013 for specifics on this exciting week!  **please note – Parent Appreciation Night/Red Beans and Rice Night is Monday, January 28.
