Fifth grade students partnered with their First grade buddies for a fun-filled day of exploration. Both groups had been studying rocks and minerals and taking care of our Earth. The day began where they saw the entire process of recycling and then explored the trails of petrified wood deposited over 38 million years ago. Students ended the day by rock fluming and finding lots of treasures to bring home.
Last Thursday many St. Anthony students ventured out to learn off campus! All students in grades 1st – 6th headed outside the walls of this beautiful school taking various field trips including beyond the city limits to Vicksburg and even to New Orleans! Our students reviewed their African & Rainforest unit by enjoying a private showing of Disney Nature’s Chimpanzee; became environmentalists at the MS Petrified Forest & Canton Recycling Center; got up close & personal with our state’s wonderful history at Vicksburg’s museums; and explored every habitat known to animals at the Audubon Institute & Aquarium of the America’s. Students, teachers, and parents enjoyed putting their learning in action throughout our great land!
