Spring Has Sprung

Riley with Silkworm

First grade student, Riley Miranda "plays" with her new friend. Students take care of their very own silkworms and learn about the entire life cycle in the process.

Students throughout PreKindergarten through 1st grade are getting a whole new “look” at Life Science.  From hatching chickens to feeding silkworms from our own Mulberry trees and even exploring and releasing butterflies in the St. Anthony Garden, students have a deep understanding of the life cycle and developmental stages of many plants and animals.  This time of year allows the teachers to immerse the students in their units while comparing their own growth and change to that of all God’s Creatures.

Chicks

Campbell Miller, Joseph Wright, and Gia Picarella practice the art of carefully nuturing their new baby chicks after they hatch.
